Signs of the Kingdom

I'm sure you've heard it said "I don't go to church because it's full of hypocrites".  Of course the same logic applies to hospitals "I don't go to hospitals because it's full of sick people".  The neat thing is Jesus was aware of the hypocrites and He gives us a warning.

He says:

Matthew 7:15-20
15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.  16 You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles?  17 So, every sound tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears evil fruit.  18 A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.  19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.  20 Thus you will know them by their fruits.

So how can we identify the bad fruit and the good fruit?  Paul helps us out in:

Galatians 5
19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control.

Here's a cool song to remember the fruit of the Spirit by

Fruit of the Spirit
