In some cultures parents wait to name their child because they want to get a glimpse into the child's character first but Joseph was told the name by God's angel in a dream! He was told to name his child Jesus (Saviour) because He would save His people from their sins.
Hallowed by Thy name begs for us to understand what God's names are. If we understand the descriptive names of God we can come to understand His character more. One name is Jehovah Raah/The Lord is my Shepherd.

King David; the guy who new what it was like to be:
-- a working young boy
-- hated just because someone was jealous
-- a fugitive
-- a human Father with his imperfections
-- a King with wealth and power
...
understood God in an amazing way and we can see in Psalm 23 that he started to learn about God as a young boy working with his Father's sheep.

A high schooler told me they did an experiment in class. They put a box over someone's head and they directed them around the classroom. They determined that people didn't like being directed by someone else even if it was perfectly safe. I'm thinking this is what happened with Adam and Eve. They didn't like to be directed by God so God allowed them to make some free choices; but their choices had consequences and the consequences were hard. So what if we had someone that we knew, that we trusted to take care of us, that knew more about the hazards of life than we knew, who wanted the very best for us and knew the past, the future, and the thoughts of those around us; someone who loved us so much that He even risked His own son's life for us, someone who wanted to work a long side us and bring out the best in us...what if He was directing us? Would we like it then?
